hey ppl! im back.. anyway.. the children's choir in church today went quite well i suppose.. hee.. got compliments from the congregation and well.. it was ok.. no pic yet.. sorry for the waitin.. which is if there's anyone waitin for the photo..
went to shao mu today.. qing ming festival.. ya.. pray to ancestors.. today.. it was to my grandpa's parents.. my great grandparents.. it was located around bishan area i suppose.. alot of ppl were there.. well.. as a catholic.. i've nvr been to such a place b4.. it's not a temple but the things they sell, incense paper, paper clothes and etc for the dead, makes it very chinese.. hmm.. anyway.. my dad bought 2 big boxes.. which, the contents are clothes, money and necessary items for the dead.. well, there is even a difference of which content is for the guy and gal.. very interestin rite..
b4 tt, we oso went to ntuc to get some fruits and items.. my grandaunt bought some kuay teow and vegetarian food.. there's kopi-o too.. we put and arrange the stuffs we bought on a table and waited for a nun to come over... i think she was to pray and communicate to the dead tt the gifts were for them.. with the incense, prayin and all.. i guess my greatgrandparents should be happy.. went inside the buildin to find their place inside the columbarium.. well... there's alot inside lor.. but all seems very long ago and old.. some very dirty too.. my greatgrandpa's urn was quite clean.. and located at the '6th'level while my greatgrandma's urn was quite dusty and i cant quite rmb where it was located.. we paid the person-in-charge so as to help us clean the urn.. hmm..
anyway.. once all was done.. we packed up the fruits and food and separated it between our family and my grandaunt's family.. thn.. we went off to another place whereby this time, it's our 2nd grandaunt whom we are payin respect to.. we didn get to see her urn as the place was closin for the day.. only manage to burn some incense paper for her..
i think tt this is a very unique experience for me as this is the very first time im doin it.. i think i will be gg to visit my graves and columbarium this yr.. i haven been doin so in the past yrs as im quite afraid of such things.. hmm.. well.. the experience is still very special.. this is such a unique chinese tradition which is almost like the chinese new yr whereby all chinese pay respect to their ancestors.. hmm.. ok... there's sch tml and i guess the results for common test will be out soon.. good luck to all.. and enjoy..
